Ostara

Ostara is about balance.  It is the perfect balance on the journey through the Wheel of the Year.  Night and day are in perfect equilibrium.

Ostara, Eostre, Eastre is named after the Germanic and Anglo Saxon Goddess of Spring and Dawn.  She is often honored during the Equinox with festivals to celebrate fertility, growth, new beginnings, fertility, transition, renewal and rebirth. Her name means "to shine".

"Great goddess, you have freed yourself from the icy prison of winter.

With your blessing I free myself as well,

from anything that no longer serves me.

Now is the greening, when the fragrance of flowers drifts on the breeze.

This is the beginning.

Life renews itself by Your magic, Earth Goddess.

Today, my life is also renewed.

The God stretches and rises.

Vibrant in His youth; bursting with the promise of summer.

From this day on, I am also vibrant- growing my inner light with the coming days.”

To commemorate this day, grab a stone you own to connect with the energies of Mother Earth and remind you of your place within Her. Hold the stone in your hands and say the following prayer:

"I walk the earth in friendship, not in dominance.

Mother Goddess and Father God, instill within me through this stone

a warmth for all living things.

Teach me to revere the Earth and all its treasures.

May I never forget that everything is connected and has a purpose.

Blessed be.”
