This image begun through frottage, by teasing an image out of swirls of paint laid down without forethought. 

Out of this evolved an Afro-Caribbean youth wearing a cowrie necklace and a turban, holding a glowing herb and smudgestick, while an ancient face of indeterminate gender (an ancestor?) holds a crescent moon in the upper left. 

Who is offering to whom? To me this seems an astral encounter, both a serendipity and a ritual.
