Lily of the valley is native to Europe and is thought to have been first cultivated in 1420. This flower is beloved by humans and Fae alike gaining it the nickname fairy cups. As a symbol of purity, modesty and happiness, lily of the valley has been a popular wedding flower since the Middle Ages.
Use lily of the valley in sachets for happiness purity/chastity, mental powers, and fae magic. Use this herb as an offering to spirits (especially faerys). It is thought that planting them in the garden will protect the home from ghosts and evil spirits.
