Amun The Ancient Egyptian King Of Gods
Cold Cast Bronze
L 3 ¾ * W 2 ⅝ * H 10 ¾
Amun was an ancient Egyptian deity who rose from a local Theban god to become the "King of the Gods," especially after merging with the sun god Ra to form Amun-Re, the supreme national deity during the New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BCE). Known as "The Hidden One," he symbolized air, creation, and fertility, often depicted with a tall double-plumed crown, blue skin (representing invisibility/air), or sometimes as a ram or ram-headed. His immense power was centered in Thebes, with grand temples at Karnak and Luxor, and his cult was so influential that pharaohs incorporated his name into their own.
