Athena Welding Spear and Aegis

Athena is the goddess of reason, wisdom, handicrafts, war, and is also the guardian of Athens. Despite being known as a goddess of war she was said to value peace and only fight in conflicts that threatened Athens.  Athena’s origin is unusual even among the gods as she sprung fully formed from the forehead of her father Zeus. Athena is usually depicted wearing a helmet and often holding both a spear and owl. Being the Goddess of wisdom, she is credited with the invention of many items the Greeks valued such as ships, chariots, plows, and flutes.
