Osiris is the Egyptian god of fertility, ruler of the dead, and the embodiment of the dead and resurrected pharaoh. He is father of Horus and husband of Isis and was the first being to be mummified following his being slain and broken into 14 pieces by the god Seth. Osiris is depicted as a mummified man wearing the crown of upper Egypt with arms crossed holding a crook and flail.
