The Empress (1995)
This image, a version of the Tarot trump, was done at a time when I wanted to bring her qualities into my life: abundance, fertility, generosity.
The rose at her bosom mirrors the golden rose in her undergown, to signify in my mind the bringing forth of beautiful treasures.
At her throat is a stylized vaginal symbol, and her open palms are scrolled with a fanciful European variation on mehndi ( Indian fertility designs) involving palmistry symbols.
