The acorn has ritual and culinary use dating to prehistory. Many different cultures around the globe have used acorns as symbols of fertility and longevity. In the European tradition witches gave acorns as a sign of new friendship in order to enhance growth and connection between the new friends.

There are a few different ways to use acorns in magick. Planting an acorn with intent can bring about new growth and fertility. One may carry an acorn in a sachet or hex bag to invoke its power, and powdered acorn can be used in incense and teas.
