Bastet Black and Gold

Bastet is the goddess of the home, domesticity, protection, cats, fertility, and childbirth. She is depicted either as a black cat or a woman with the head of a black cat both wear golden accessories. Bastet’s shrine in Bubastis which became one of the richest cities in Egypt due to people from all over the traveling there to pay their respects to the goddess and have the bodies of their dead cats interred in the city.
