Named for “John” who, as legend states, was a royal slave who gained freedom from his masters and helped others do the same. John, myth or not, became a source of inspiration for other slaves who wanted to rebel against their master but could not do so openly. High John the Conqueror remains a powerful figure in Conjure and Hoodoo magick.

Use high John root in sachets for road-opening, success, protection, happiness, and hex breaking. Burned as incense, this root is used for road-opening, success, protection, and hex breaking. Add high John root to a bath for opening new roads/paths, drawing success, protection, and breaking negative spells/hexes.
